[edit] Overview

King Neptune holds supreme power over Bikini Bottom, retaining the title of King. His status symbol is his crown which he loves more than anything... perhaps even his daughter Mindy. His character appearances are minor, his key role being in The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie. The plot unfolds from the stealing of his crown, which leads him to go mad and nearly try to kill Mr. Krabs. This is mostly in due to the fact that he can't stand the thought of anyone else touching his crown, even attempting to send the "Royal Crown Polisher" to jail for cleaning it. He at one point was SpongeBob's trainee at the Krusty Krab during Neptune's Spatula.

He really worries when it comes to his hair, or lack thereof. The removal of his crown displays that he's in fact bald to which he receives such comments as "my eyes!" and "it burns!" as his head is extremely shiny. This is a small reason, but still another for why he loves his crown so much. It makes his status, and shows it.

The only thing he loves other than his crown is his daughter. He is always trying to teach her the ways of the sea, for one day she shall wear the crown. She isn't really too interested though, preferring to be nice to the creatures of the sea and make friends.
